EESI Earns 99% Score and 4 Stars from Charity Navigator
Charity Navigator, America’s top charity evaluator with more than 11 million visitors annually, has recognized the Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) with its seal of approval, awarding it four out of four stars and a 99 percent rating. EESI Receives Highest Rating from Charity Navigator
For the sixth year in a row, the Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) is proud to have received a Four-Star rating from Charity Navigator for sound fiscal management and a proven commitment to accountability and transparency. Four is the highest possible rating, and only 11 percent of nonprofits evaluated have received the distinction of receiving a Four Star rating six years in a row. EESI is especially pleased to have received the highest possible rating in accountability and transparency, scoring a full 100 out of 100 possible points under Charity Navigator’s criteria. Through our commitment to transparency, EESI also earned a 2020 Platinum Seal of Transparency, the highest level of recognition offered by GuideStar, the world’s largest source of nonprofit information.
Spitzer Trust Grant to Expand EESI’s Work on Resilience
The New York-based Bernard and Anne Spitzer Charitable Trust has awarded a $300,000 grant to the Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) to showcase resilience as a major component of climate change adaptation in federal policy, with a particular focus on coastal communities and nature-based solutions.
EESI Earns Perfect Rating from Charity Navigator
Charity Navigator, America’s leading nonprofit evaluator, has released its most recent evaluation of the Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI), and EESI once again earned the highest designation: Four Star Charity! Beyond earning its place as a Four Star Charity, EESI earned—for the first time ever—100 out of the 100 points possible in both categories considered by Charity Navigator: financial health and accountability and transparency.
EESI Moves 100% of Stock Holdings to Socially Responsible Funds
The Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting environmentally sustainable societies, will complete moving its stock holdings to socially responsible funds by December 2016. Half of EESI's holdings are already in such funds. EESI's commitment extends beyond mere avoidance of companies whose policies conflict with our mission statement: it emphasizes a positive search for companies that are in line with our organizational values and vision. In particular, EESI will preferentially invest in companies that have demonstrated a commitment to environmental stewardship, energy efficiency, and clean renewable energy; EESI will also divest from companies that extract energy from fossil fuels.

The Environmental and Energy Study Institute (EESI) is delighted to announce that it has been selected by Suja Juice Co. as one of the 12 nonprofit partners featured in the Suja Elements Cause Collective™ program.
